Way of the Warrior / Jeet Kune Do Alliance
Presents
Bruce Lee's first Student in the United States. With A Two Day Seminar of Non-Classical Gung Fu on
February 21st and 22nd 2009
Jesse Glover
Jesse Glover first met Si-Jo Lee in 1959 while they were both students at Edison Technical School. The two became close friends and training partners. Lee taught Mr. Glover the inner mechanics of his mother art, Wing Chun so Lee could have someone who gave him a challenge when doing chi-sao and other sensitivity type excercises. Glover was already a respected Judo champion and boxer before training with the late action star. Glover attended many demos with Lee and even served as his first unofficial assistant instructor. When Lee wrote his first book, Chinese Gung Fu, Glover aided in not only performing the techniques for the book but also helping create some of the throwing techniques for the project. Glover has released three books since Lee's death which include: "Bruce Lee: Between Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do", "Bruce Lee's Non-Classical Gung Fu" and "Non-Classical Gung Fu". Mr. Glover's official site domain is: www.nonclassicalgungfu.com.

Adam Chan's Book Climbing Mountains and Eating Punches. This book is a Memoir of Adam's journey towards Martial Arts Functional Mastery. Adam's insight are hard won and come from decades of of travel around North America and living in China.
It is not uncommon for people to take martial arts lessons for years and still not be able to use their arts in real situations outside the training hall.

This book is about Adam's journey to overcome this problem through years of trial and error, the discovery of universal principles that have nothing to do with style and the questioning of assumptions that we have for the nature of conflict itself.

Adam Chan teaches privately at Pragmatic Martial Arts in Vancouver, B.C. If you live in the North West it would do you well to contact Adam Chan and make arrangements for some personal coaching his philosophy and insights will make it worth your investment, time and travel.

Tommy Carruthers Online Jeet Kune Do

Interesting Tommy Carruthers is teaching online Jeet Kune Do classes. These look like an great deal financially, I have seen Tommy Curruthers in person and watched him teach. He is a great instructor and this looks like a great way to learn if you are not in reach of training with one of the top teachers of Jeet Kune Do.

It is the opinion of the Karate Critic that if you are not able to train with a top instructor leave JKD alone. It is hard to find a good practitioner let alone a good teacher and Tommy is Both in Spades.

Jesse Glover compares Tommy favorably with Bruce Lee himself.
